E-books Guide: Downloading E-books

This guide explains e-book resources available through Manderino Library, including how to download e-books to your computer or mobile device.

Before You Start

The tutorials to the right show the process for downloading e-books to your computer or mobile device. It's not hard, but there are a few steps. You can also read ebooks online on the e-book provider's site without going through the download process, but downloaded e-books have a few advantages, especially if you plan on using the title in more than one sitting:

  • you can read/use the book offline
  • downloaded e-books will temporarily reside on your device-you won't have to go back to the libary site to read them!
  • Some e-books only allow one user at a time---if you download it, it's "checked out" to you

Not all e-books can be downloaded! Look for these icons that indicate a title is downloadable:

Currently, only EBSCOhost and Proquest ebooks allow downloading.
