We're going to evaluate a few different resources today and then get started on your individual research projects.

Biographical Research Resources

These subscription databases give credible biographical overviews on thousands of people. Some also offer articles from different journals and magazines, as well as recommended books for further information.

Biography in Context
Find biographical information on people from throughout history, around the world, and across all disciplines and subject areas. Information comes from a number of reference resources and journals. Note: Formerly called "Biography Resource Center." (Gale)
Literary Sources (Gale Artemis)
Provides biographical, bibliographical, and critical content on authors from all time periods, in the genres of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, history, journalism, and more. For literary research, this is the place to begin! (Gale)

Literary Sources includes most, but not all, of: Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism, and the Dictionary of Literary Biography, and other selected Gale print resources.

Gale Literary Index is a master index to every literary series published by Gale in print--including some series not included in LRC. This index is helpful when using the library's print versions of the Gale resources.

Find articles about almost every academic subject. This is our main resource for online, full-text articles. (EBSCO)

JSTOR Journal Archive
A full-text archive of over 1,700 of the best scholarly journals in the social sciences, humanities, mathematics, life sciences, etc. Full-text is available from the first issue, but usually does not include the most recent 2-5 years. Note: A very small number of journals now include current content.
